We’re constantly looking for ways to improve our processes and product. Here’s a rundown of all the changes we’ve made in an effort to give you, our police and security partners, a better PredPol experience.

New Feature Releases

We're excited to announce that the most recent update contains our new crime analytics dashboard! Our goal is to provide you additional insight into the trends and events that impact your patrol operations. PredPol lets you access this information as simply as possible in a variety of useful formats.

Our dashboard is configured to allow access to command staff and crime analysts. Once in the app itself, you can access the dashboard by selecting Overview from the Analytics menu.

The top of the dashboard will display a summary of what is going on during a given shift for a given patrol area. You can quickly see which crime type is most prevalent, when crime generally occurs, and which way the numbers are trending.

After the summary, we’ve provided new graphs breaking down crime counts by crime type as well as crime counts over time. This data is also available in a CompStat-style table format and can be downloaded as a PDF or CSV. You can view this data at the city level, or break it down by any combination of beat, shift, mission and date range - all with a click of a mouse. You won't need to learn a report-writing tool, buy a reporting package, or ask the IT department to run reports for you anymore! 

Further down the page, you can see the crime rates aggregated by hour of day as well as day of week in our new crime counts heatmap and crime counts by day radar chart.

Finally, at the bottom of the dashboard we’ve made all of the raw data available in a table, including the ability to download your data in PDF or CSV format. This gives you a powerful auditing and validation mechanism, as well as the ability to perform your own further analyses. This is your data - you should be able to to get to it as simply as possible!
